Flash vs. HTML 5

Flash allows web browser to display audio, video, and SVG (scalable vector graphics).
HTML 5 is code that will be able to do what Flash does.
The main controversy of these articles is that Apple isn't going to use flash for their ipods, ipads and iphones and they are going to use HTML 5; All browsers aren't able to use HTML 5 yet so they are still using Flash.
One thing from the apple article that really struck me was that Flash is the number one reason Macs crash?! I don't like to hear the word crash especially when it's in the same sentence that's talking about my computer! Why wouldn't you want to fix that problem and use something other than flash for your websites.
I think that Adobe needs to move with the technology, if Flash isn't working... create a new product or fix yours to better adapt to what everyone needs.
After reading the articles, I think that HTML 5 is going to be a good thing.. everyone just needs a little time to catch up to it, it kind of seems like apple is just pushing for a it a little faster than some would like.

First Blog 9/1/10

At this point I know nothing at all about designing or starting a website, I want to learn as much as possible! I am very excited for this class!
